How Does Cast Iron Integration Work?

The Cast Iron solution provides the following key features to simplify and accelerate data migration and application integration:

Cast Iron Capabilities

Data Quality and Migration:

  • Data Profiling: Assess the quality of your data before commencing data migrations — e.g. identify the unique state and country codes present in your address data
  • Intelligent Data Cleansing:
    • Duplicate Removal (de-duplication): Combine data from various different data sources and remove duplicate values — e.g. remove the same lead scanned multiple times
    • Fuzzy Lookup: Configure sophisticated rules to highlight errors and fix them — e.g. common misspellings, abbreviations, etc.
  • Data Enrichment: Perform lookups with third-party providers to enrich your data — e.g. DUNS number from Dun & Bradstreet services, etc.

Integration and Extraction

Cast Iron Integration Appliances simplify application integration projects in just four easy steps:

1. Connectivity 2. Transformation 3. Workflow 4. Management

Cast Iron Integration Appliances connect a wide variety of enterprise applications including CRM, ERP, databases, flat-files, other customer support systems and on-demand applications. Using a "configuration, not coding" approach for connecting applications not only enables rapid implementations but also eliminates the need to touch the endpoints. These appliances provide a graphical UI to transform data between source and target applications, and provide automatic completeness checks. A workflow process can be defined using drag-and-drop logical functions. And, a single web-based console provides complete visibility to data flowing through the appliance and enables complete management of the integrations.

Components

Cast Iron's solution for enterprise application integration comprises three distinct appliances — the iA2500, iA3000 and iA3000HA. While these appliances share the same technology foundation, each product is designed to meet specific customer needs:

Cast Iron Studio™

Cast Iron Studio™ Cast Iron Studio (Studio) is at the heart of the easy-to-use design experience offered by Cast Iron's Integration Appliances. Studio provides a graphical environment for you to configure integration data flows called workflows or orchestrations. Studio allows you to create these workflows by dragging and dropping activities into a design window. Once designed, these workflows can be published to the appliance with a single click.

Run-time Appliance

Cast Iron Integration Appiance™ Combining ease-of-use with robust functionality, the purpose-built Run-time Appliance brings high performance and reliability to your integration solution. With easy scalability and complete security, the appliance is self-contained and has everything needed to complete your integrations.

Web Management Console

Cast Iron Web Management Console™ (WMC) The Web Management Console (WMC) is a simple-to-use environment where you deploy integration projects, and then securely monitor and manage these integrations. The Web Management Console also manages all deployment assets related to the integration for you. These assets could include the WSDL definition for a web service to invoke your integration or database scripts to send database events to the Cast Iron Integration Appliance.
